About Us
Since 1999, Paint & Decor has helped people create homes filled with colour, warmth and personality.
What started as a passion for beautiful interiors and meaningful colour has grown into a trusted and familiar space, especially with the local Durbanville Community, where creativity and expertise meet.
Beautiful spaces begin with inspired choices.
A Story that began with Colour.
Paint & Decor began as a business with a passion for colour, quality and the belief that the spaces we live in should feel like your own.
In 1999, Fransie and Elna Goussard founded Paint and Decor in Durbanville, starting their family business that would grow into much more than just a traditional Paint shop. From the beginning the focus was on helping other people select the right colour, the right product and the correct solution for their individual homes and projects.
This philosophy became the foundation of Paint and Decor, Colour should be personal, and choosing paint should be an experience rather than a simple purchase.
From paint shop to a creative destination
Over the years, Paint and Decor developed its own distinctive character. Alongside quality paint products came colour expertise, interior decorating, creative inspiration and a genuine willingness to assist customers to bring their ideas to life.
The business became know for its hands on approach to colour and its ability to create and match colours specifically for individual projects. As the business continued to grow, so did its creative offering.
Paint and Decor expanded into decorating products, wallpaper selections, fabric and decorative finishes and encouraged customers to eperiment even more in creating and discovering their own unique style.
A family business with creative spirit.
For Paint and Decor, being family-owned has always meant more than simply having the same surname above the door. It simply means caring about the details.
It means knowing that the colour someone chooses for their bedroom may become part of their family's everyday life. It means understanding that small colour tester pots can be the beginning of a complete room transformation
This personal approach has remained at the heart of the business for more than two decades.
Paint and Decor was also among the first three Annie Sloan stockists in South Africa, introducing customers to a new world of furniture painting, restoration and creative expression at a time when decorative painting was still relatively new locally.
Colour with a story.
Today, Paint and Decor continues that original philosophy while bringing together everything we love about creating beautiful spaces.
Our own colours are not simply names on a colour chart. Our colours all have their own stories, inspirations and connections to landscapes, memories and people that have shaped Paint and Decor over the years.
Our approach has grown beyond paint.
From colour collections, selections and custom colour matching to wallpaper, fabrics, curtains and blinds, upholstry and full interior decorating, we help bring different elements of a space together so that they feel considered, cohesive and uniquely yours!
After more than 26 years, one thing has never changed: "We believe colour has the power to change how a space feels."
It can make a room calmer, brighter, more dramatic or simply more like home. We dont believe in telling you what your home should look like. We believe in helping you discover what your home can become.
From our beginings in Durbanville in 1999 to the Paint and Decor you know today, our story remains, its about family, colour, creativity and the joy of making spaces your own!
We continue, still mixing, matching, creating and inspiring one project at a time.
"Colour has the power to transform more than walls, it shapes how a home feels.
Our passion is helping people create spaces that reflect their lifestyle, tell their story and feel beautifully lived in. "
